The book Al-Ba'ath al-Hathith, Commentary on the Abridgment of the Sciences of Hadith, is one of the books of the Sciences of Hadith, in which Ahmed Muhammad Shakir summarizes the Sciences of Hadith by Hafiz Ibn Kathir.

Description

Ahmad Muhammad Shakir said in the introduction to his publication: “I saw that the original of Ibn Kathir's book was known as (Abbreviation of the Sciences of Hadith) and that the distinguished brother Sheikh Muhammad Abdul Razzaq Hamza made another title for it in its first edition in Mecca, calling it (Abbreviation of the Sciences of Hadith or Al-Ba'ath al-Hathith to the Abbreviation of the Sciences of Hadith) in compliance with the rhyming that writers have become fond of in recent centuries, and I hate rhyming and dislike it, but I do not know how I missed changing this in the second edition that I brought out, then the book became famous with the name ”Al-Ba'ath al-Hathith", which is not the name of the book of Ibn Kathir.
