The author says of his book, “I wanted the articles in this book to achieve two things: to be mostly short, and to express cultural, literary and critical positions that have their origins in the theory of culture and criticism. I did not set out for these chapters, a large number of which were published by the Makkah newspaper, to deviate from the approach I set out for them, in their fulfillment of those origins, and their expression of the author's soul and his doctrine in literature, criticism and culture.
