Description

Schizophrenia is a group of concurrent psychiatric symptoms that usually appear before the age of forty, and generally lead to the disintegration and deterioration of the individual's personality; people with schizophrenia usually have abnormal and strange ways of thinking, behavior and feelings, they look at what is around them in an abnormal way, and their personal lives are dominated by unrealistic ideas, and their emotions often seem conflicting and dissonant, and they are cut off from their families and friends, until it seems as if they have isolated themselves from the world around them.

Schizophrenia is different from multiple personalities, as schizophrenia is a mental illness in which there are no multiple personalities.

The patient's personality is the same but gradually deteriorates, and does not usually return to its original state.

Multiple personality is one of the Dissociative Disorders, a very rare condition characterized by the patient behaving in different personalities at different times, switching from one personality to another, spending several hours or a few days in each personality, and then returning to the first personality.

In this book, the author, Professor Tariq bin Ali al-Habib, discusses schizophrenia.

He addressed his book to medical students as a reference book in the Arabic language, and was careful in writing it to choose the easiest words and easiest phrases in order to benefit the largest number of specialists and non-specialists.

The book includes several topics, including: Causes of Schizophrenia, Immunity and Schizophrenia, Food and Schizophrenia, Symptoms of Schizophrenia, Clinical Types of Schizophrenia, Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, and many more.
