In many cases, a person is able to make up his mind and escape from confusion and uncertainty; he makes his decision and does not care about the consequences. However, in love and romance, the decision is not easy at all; when doubt possesses the lover, he is caught between the two extremes; he is not able to continue in a love in which he has no share, nor is he able to part, and the fire increases and burns his heart. Although it is the only novel by the literary giant Akkad, he succeeded, as usual, in embodying the psychological state of his protagonist with great literary craftsmanship. In it, Al-Aqkad recounted one of his harsh emotional experiences, the bitter aftermath of which remained in his heart until the end of his life.
