About the author:
Hamza al-Nashiri, who is Taqa al-Din Abu al-Abbas Hamza bin Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Muhammad bin Ali bin Abi Bakr bin Abdullah bin Muhammad al-Nashiri, a Yemeni Shafiite, was born in the month of Shawwal in the year 833 AH (July 1430 AD) in Wadi Zabid, Yemen, and he was familiar with botany, history and literature, and he used to take knowledge from the scholars of Zabid. After that, he traveled to Mecca and met Shams al-Din al-Sakhawi in 886 AH, who gave him a summary of the biographies of the scholars of his country, and al-Nashiri was known for his frequent marriage and died in the month of Dhu al-Qa'dah in 926 AH (September 1523 AD), as he approached the age of one hundred years, as he was ninety-three years old.
