About the author:

Dr. Muhyiddin Saber Mohamedin is one of the pioneers of education in Sudan, the first PhD holder in Sudan and the first to change the educational system inherited from the British.

He was born in Dalqo Al-Mahs (Aqtari village), where he received his primary education and graduated from Dar Al-Ulum in 1945, and received an educational diploma in 1946.

He earned two doctorates in arts and social sciences in the 1940s and early 1950s.

He married a local doctor, with whom he had four sons and a daughter. 

He was appointed a parliamentary deputy in the first transitional government, and was editor-in-chief of several Sudanese newspapers during 1956-1959, and worked as an expert at UNESCO 1959-1968, and was elected as a parliamentary member and a member of the University of Khartoum Council, and was appointed Minister of Education in 1969, where he added two years to basic education, reformulated the curriculum and paid attention to technical education and expanded education horizontally and vertically during his era.

He was also elected president of the Arab Agency for Literacy and Adult Education in 1973 and director of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) in 1976, where he remained for 13 years.

He has dozens of published works and research papers, and has participated in many national and international conferences and seminars.

He adopted many Arab cultural projects and established institutions in a number of Arab countries, and founded the Institute of Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers in Sudan.

He was a member of the Linguistic Society in Damascus, and he is the author of the anthem of the Alumni Conference (Sarkha Root My Blood).
