He is Wahbi Sulaiman Ghawji Al-Albanian Damascene Hanafi, a Syrian Sunni theologian and one of the most prominent Hanafi jurists.

He was born in Shkodra in northern Albania in May 1923 AD, which is a majority Muslim country among the rest of Albania. He grew up in it and was raised in the care of his father, the Hanafi jurist Sheikh Suleiman bin Khalil Gaugi, and his father was a great imam who preached in the Kochet Mosque in Albania, and contributed to the construction of a large mosque in the Garots neighborhood in Shkodra, where he gathered them and read them the Holy Quran and the principles of Islam.

At the age of five, his father enrolled him in the book, and at the age of seven, he entered the government primary school. During the afternoon break, he would go to the book to continue his learning of the Holy Quran, as he did in the summer, and he learned to read the Quran and some of the principles of Islam in what is called (the science of the case) doctrines - worship - and some of the best morals.

After finishing elementary school in 1936, he did not continue his studies because King Ahmed Zogo had issued an order for women to cover their faces and for students and employees to wear a barnet on their heads, so his father prevented him from continuing his studies.
