In this book, “Introduction to Statistical Analysis Methods,” the author is interested in measuring the straight and non-linear correlation between variables and how to formulate functional relationships between them, which is known in statistical circles as regression.

The contents of the book:

Nowadays, economic, social, administrative and other research - in light of the tremendous technological progress in all fields of our daily lives - is no longer satisfied with merely presenting issues, studying phenomena, identifying causes, drawing conclusions, and making decisions in a superficial and abstract manner that is far from the method of persuasion, evaluation and measurement.

The general trend in such research and studies has become the use of quantitative measurement methods and statistical means of persuasion in order to identify characteristics and highlight general trends in social and administrative phenomena and analyze the intertwined and mutual relationships between phenomena on an objective and unbiased basis.

The science of statistics provides researchers in the field of economic, social and administrative sciences with many methods and techniques necessary for the necessity of conducting economic, social, administrative and geographical studies and research. It is based on the measurement of the movement of many variables that determine the phenomena under study.

This is what Dr. Mukhtar Mahmoud Al-Hans was keen to highlight in the two parts of his book, the first of which was titled “Introduction to Statistical Methods” and the second, which is in our hands, “Introduction to Statistical Analysis Methods,” in which he explained the theoretical aspects of the theory of probability and mathematical prediction and also touched on the applied aspects of this theory.

In addition to this, he addressed the most important characteristics of the normal distribution in some detail (due to the importance of this distribution) and the applied aspects of it in terms of finding probabilities for phenomena that are moderately distributed, as well as the study in this area included the characteristics of the sampling distribution and the central limit theorem and the importance of this in statistical inference.

He also reviewed in some detail the statistical tests and the estimation of population parameters. He also touched on an aspect of the central limit theorem and explained in detail the t-distribution commonly used in statistical inference.

The author did not fail to address the most important continuous probability distributions of special importance in the applied field of empirical studies. He dealt with the explanation supported by some mathematical proofs for both the “Ka2” distribution and the “Fisher” distribution, supporting the applied aspect of these distributions with quite a few practical applications that researchers in the field of agriculture, industry, medicine, chemistry, psychology and sociology may find in the scientific management of statistical analysis in all aspects of experimental and field research and solving many issues related to decision-making.
