About the Author

Fadl bin Ammar Saleh Al-Omari is a Saudi researcher, academic and critic, born in 1364 H. He teaches at the Department of Arabic Language at King Saud University. He has published many critical works focusing on ancient Arabic literature and Jahili poetry, as well as the Encyclopedia of Tribal Habitats and Caravan Routes in the Arabian Peninsula, in 14 volumes.

He holds a BA from the Faculty of Arts, King Saud University, 1992, and a PhD from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1984, the subject of his dissertation was “The Poetry of Taghlib”.

He is a professor of Arabic language at the Faculty of Arts, King Saud University.
