The book mentions several hadiths that urge Muslims to reform their society, including the following:
-
On the authority of Abu Hafsas 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "All deeds are done with intentions, but every man has his own intentions, so if his migration is to Allah and His Messenger, then his migration is to Allah and His Messenger, and if his migration is for a world to gain or a woman to marry, then his migration is to what he migrated to. Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim in their Sahih.
-
Jundab ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "Whoever hears what Allah hears, Allah hears it, and whoever commits hypocrisy, Allah commits hypocrisy against him.
-
Nu'man ibn Bashir, may Allah be pleased with both of them, said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say: Al-Nu'man pointed his fingers at his ears: Whoever avoids the doubtful things will be cleared of his religion and his honor, and whoever falls into the doubtful things will fall into the forbidden ones, like a shepherd grazing around the sheepfold. The shepherd who grazes around the sheepfold is about to fall into it, and that every king has a protectorate, and God's protectorate is His sanctuary, and that in the body there is a part that if it is healthy, the whole body is healthy, and if it is corrupted, the whole body is corrupted, namely the heart.

Hakim ibn Hazam said: I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and he gave me, then I asked him and he gave me, then I asked him and he gave me, then he said: "O Hakim, this money is green and sweet, so whoever takes it with generosity of spirit will be blessed with it, and whoever takes it with malice of spirit will not be blessed with it, and he is like one who eats and is not satisfied: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, who sent you, I will not give anything to anyone after you until I leave this world." Abu Bakr used to invite Hakim to give him a gift, but he refused to accept anything from him, and then 'Umar invited him to give him and he refused to accept it. Abu Bakr used to invite Hakim to give him money, but he refused to accept it. Hakim did not pay any of the people after the Prophet until he died.
